Crime doesn’t care about pandemics.
The Global COVID crisis is taking centre stage in everyones lives at the moment and also for the foreseeable future. But every now and then we get reminders not to drop our guard to other risks out there.
Two days ago, Police pursued a stolen car on the eastern shores of Lake Taupo. Details are still emerging but it appears the offender, who was armed, was subsequently tracked and located by a Police dog and the Armed Offenders Squad after he decamped on foot through Lake Taupo Forest. When incidents like these occur they are usually rapidly evolving and can change in a heart beat. A scary situation for anyone to be in.
